Twelve Tribes: Cult or Community. You Decide

This video interview was done shortly after I learned about the Twelve Tribes Cult. My husband and I were looking for a messianic-type fellowship and TT was on the same page as the church we ended up becoming part of for almost a year (not a TT group though). Mark Lee is the man interviewed, and, from my understanding, he did become a member, though I'm not sure if he also moved his family there.

Why I Will NOT Visit The Twelve Tribes Cult

A while ago, a man named Mark Lee did an interview with me in which he spoke to me about a "group" he had been visiting, that practiced communal living. This group is now known as a cult called The Twelve Tribes. He was planning to move his family to this commune and has apparently done so. He defends this group vehemently, stating that the "spankings" that they inflict on children and even infants are better than those children becoming disobedient and lawbreakers in society. Mark asked me if I have visited the cult.

Graduation Party for Amber

My youngest daughter decided NOT to go to college. "Mom," she says, "I have decided NOT to go to school around here. I want to get as far away from here as possible." "Daughter,"said I, "NO!" I didn't want her to leave all of us, her home, hometown, and all that was familiar to her.

"But Mom," said she..."I am an ADULT NOW. And I have DECIDED I am moving away and going to school and living on campus."

So, yes, Amber is leaving in August, to begin her journey in college and further into adulthood.

Congratulations, Amber! We will miss you but see you soon I'm sure. 

But, it just won't be the same as if you stayed here! Oh well, life must go on and children must grow up.
